You will want to open the container immediately upon arrival.  For best results, take the sack out of the chest, spray down the sack, allowing the water to flow through, return the sack to the cooler or an ice chest with a drain, and top the sack with loose ice. Make certain that any ice that melts has a way to drain, as submerging dormant crawfish will subject them to drowning.

The cold will put them in a dormant state, you will want to spray the sack down again, to wake them.

We do not recommend holding live crawfish overnight. Holding them overnight could result in an excessive amount of dead loss. Crawfish held overnight is at the risk of the customer. Our guarantee for live crawfish does not extend beyond the delivery date.
